Three drug dealers have been jailed in a crackdown on gun crime across Manchester

Three drug dealers have been jailed as part of an operation targeting gun crime in Manchester, police said.

The crackdown was aimed at gangsters using firearms to “instil fear and cause misery”, Detective Sergeant Colin Shakleton of Greater Manchester Police said.

Grzegorz Marciniak, 39, was sentenced to 23 years for three firearms offences and conspiracy to supply amphetamine and cannabis.

Rafjar Marcin, 36, was jailed for five years and four months for conspiracy to supply cannabis and amphetamine.

The pair, from Salford, were sentenced at Manchester Crown Court on Monday after pleading guilty to the charges.

Pawel Strazalkowski, 36, was jailed for four-and-a-half years in March for possessing a false identity document with improper intention and possession with intent to supply class-A drugs.

That trial was initially subject to reporting restrictions which have now been lifted.

In September 2016 officers found a gun, silencer and ammunition along with “large quantities” of marijuana and amphetamine from a house containing a cannabis farm on Knutsford Street in Salford.

Detective Sergeant Shakleton added: “This operation was launched to target the criminals who use guns and drugs to instil fear and cause misery in our communities.

“Seizing these weapons means that we have stopped them from falling into dangerous hands and causing further misery.”
