Lanes three and four had to be closed on the M6 northbound between Junction 14 for Stafford and Junction 15 for Stoke at around midday to treat the spillage.

Traffic officers attended the scene and all lanes were reopened at around 3pm, with drivers urged to allow extra time for journeys with one mile of congestion still causing delays at the time.
