The road near Greenvale in Church Aston collapsed after an historic culvert in the area caved in.

Telford & Wrekin Council said the rest of the road was secure, and that measures were being put in place to help manage traffic in the area.

Russell Griffin, for the council, said: “We are currently working on a solution to repair the damage to the carriageway but this is a complex task as we have to carry out surveys to assess the extent of the culvert.

"We don’t deem it to be at risk of collapse and we have installed measures to manage traffic on site but we would ask residents and motorists to be patient while we work on a safe solution to make the road passable again.”
