M6 drivers caught in delays after lorry blaze

Drivers travelling through the Black Country were facing long delays tonight after a truck fire on the M6.

The northbound carriageway between J10 and J10a at Walsall has been closed since after 6pm this evening.

Emergency services were on scene dealing with the incident.

Meanwhile, on the same stretch of motorway travelling southbound, drivers faced long delays early this evening after a crash.

The Central Motorway Police Group and West Midlands Fire Service were in attendance at both incidents.

A spokesperson for Highways England said: "M6 northbound is closed between J10 and J10A due to a truck fire. Emergency services are on scene."
