A spokesman for Shropshire Council said that a speed management scheme is being put in at Featherbed Lane, with work beginning on July 25, and lasting for three weeks. It will be closed from 7pm to 7am for the mini-roundabout to be altered from August 1 to 5. The authority said that noisy work will be carried out before 11pm. A Sunday closure from 4pm to 9pm will take place on August 7 to allow the road to be surface dressed. Diversion routes will be in place and access for residents will be maintained.

The road will also be surface dressed along the whole length, and there will be changes to the existing traffic signs and road markings. Street lights will also be upgraded.

The road will be closed from Longden Coleham to Salters Lane from 7.30am to 5.30pm from July 25 to 29, for construction of the first flat-top road hump. It will also be closed from Salters Lane to Belle Vue Road from 7.30am to 5.30pm, from August 1 to 5 to make the second road hump.
