EE has extended its free six months subscription to Apple Music to all its pay monthly customers – not just new ones – for the first time.

The expanded offer, which will launch on July 19, also comes complete with mobile streaming data, meaning anyone who uses the service as part of the offer can do so without using their mobile data allowance.

EE chief executive Marc Allera said: “We’re delighted to extend our exclusive Apple Music offer to existing customers and allow them to download or stream all their favourite music on us.

“As the UK’s biggest and fastest 4G network, not only are we connecting friends and family in more places across the UK, but we are also providing them with access to the content they love.

“Whether it’s the soundtrack to a Sunday morning run or the daily commute to work, EE customers can now access and stream millions of songs, playlists and shows – our treat.”

Apple Music has rapidly grown since its launch in 2015. The monthly subscription service revealed it had reached 27 million paying users in June, with only rival Spotify boasting a larger user base.

Spotify announced it had reached 50 million paying subscribers in March.
