Chancellor Philip Hammond pledged to spend an extra £20.5 billion on the NHS over the next five years, with an extra £2 billion earmarked for mental health services.

He also pledged £675 million to regenerate high streets, including rates relief for small businesses, and £420 million for potholes and road repairs.

Ms Allan said: “We will now see more investment for our public services including the NHS due to the strength of our growing economy and more people keeping more of the money they earn by raising the personal allowance to £12,500.

“I am pleased that this Budget supports hardworking people in Telford and ensures greater investment in our high-productivity, high-wage future.”
