MP anxious to hear wind farm s decision

No one is any closer to knowing the outcome of a judicial review into two controversial Mid Wales wind farms, says MP Glyn Davies.

Mr Davies is still seeking answers on a judicial review into wind farms at Llanbrynmair and Carnedd Wen.

Both wind farms were rejected in September 2015, as part of the Mid Wales Connection Project, which also saw the National Grid's connection rejected.

However, in December 2015, the developers behind the two windfarms, RWE Innogy and RES, had the decisions quashed, meaning both had to re-submit applications.

A decision was expected in the middle of 2017, but Theresa May called a snap election and the outcome was pushed back.

Montgomeryshire MP Mr Davies, who has been against the Mid Wales Connection Project from the start said he is no closer to knowing.

He said it could come tomorrow, or it could come next year.

"We still just don't know, we could know today, tomorrow, next year, but I would like to think something would happen before the end of the year," said Mr Davies.

"It is with the minister now, but it is hard to see what difference they would have if the connection is still rejected.

"As far as I am concerned I believe the National Grid have closed their office and they haven't announced their intention to do anything in the future."

Last year Mr Davies said it would be highly unlikely that another public inquiry would take place into any future constriction and said the last one had exhausted everyone.

He said: "I think no matter what the secretary of state decides they probably can't go ahead because of having no access for subsidies for onshore energy.

I'm still hopeful that the secretary of state will confirm what he did from the previous update."
