Pictures From The Past - August 3Welcome to this week's collection of nostalgia photos from the pages of the Shropshire Star.By Toby NealPublished Aug 3, 2018 CommentsCome on, we can squeeze some more on. And squeeze was the operative word with this bus operated by Hailstone’s of Churchstoke, seen here in wartime Shrewsbury. The bus was built to the special width of 6ft 6ins to enable it to operate along narrow country roads. This picture will be among those featured in an exhibition themed on Shropshire haulage firms and bus companies being held jointly by Shrewsbury Railway Heritage Trust and the County of Salop Steam Engine Society. It is being held at the trust’s base at Abbey Foregate station and its adjoining car park in Shrewsbury on August 5 from 10am to 3pm.
