A steam loco chugs along the line at Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury, in this aerial view which is undated but seems likely to be around the early 1960s. The English Bridge spans the River Severn and top is the Gay Meadow, the then home of Shrewsbury Town. Just below it is the technical high school, which was in 1965 renamed the Wakeman School.
