Nissan showcases NV300 Concept-van
Versatile van can be converted to suit all needs
Nissan has revealed a new type of NV300 concept van to highlight its versatility.
Unveiled at the Brussels Motor Show in Belgium, the van has been fully kitted out. In this instance it takes the form of a mobile workshop for woodworking.
The NV300 concept features a integrated battery system called Nissan Energy ROAM. It’s a weatherproof power pack which can provide power for all manner of tools and equipment silently and completely free of emissions.
It has a storage capacity of 700Wh, and a maximum power output of 1kW, making it ideal for those who need consistent power on the move.
Francesco Giacalone, LCV Planning and Marketing Director, Nissan Europe said: “With the NV300 Concept-van, Nissan is really thinking about the future of the commercial vehicle as an authentic partner for business customers.
“It’s practical and versatile as well as innovative and self-sufficient with the addition of Nissan Energy ROAM. We believe it has enormous potential in the LCV sector and is a key differentiator for Nissan commercial vehicles.”
The Nissan Energy ROAM system is crafted form second-life batteries taken from scrapped Nissan Leaf vehicles, showcasing the ability to recycle electric vehicle batteries with useful solutions.
It can be charged up using a solar panel accessory mounted to the top of the van as well as through a conventional supply, allowing a constant source of free solar energy to lessen the blow on the National Grid.
The interior also features an integrated touch-screen computer, LED ceiling lighting and swivel seating.
Though the NV300 is available to buy now, Nissan’s new Energy ROAM system can’t be specified just yet – though it is set to launch in European markets this spring.
