The Lego Aston Martin is made to 1:18 scale

One of the most famous movie cars of all time – James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 – has been reimagined in Lego form.

The latest in Lego’s Creator Series, the DB5 features many of the gadgets that 007 relied upon during his time with the car. The Aston was, of course, made famous thanks to its appearance in the 1964 film Goldfinger.

Made up of 1,290 pieces, the intricate model has a working ejector seat, revolving number plates, hidden telephone and even front-wing machine guns.

The attention to detail is immense, with Aston Martin wings applied to the moulder silver wire wheel inserts, and a highly detailed replica six-cylinder engine under the bonnet. You can even open the doors to reveal a radar tracker, just as you’d find in Bond’s own car.

In total, the model is 10cm high, 34cm long and 12cm wide. The 1:18 scale vehicle incorporates key touches such as sloped headlamps and lacquered front and rear bumpers, helping to make the model appear as realistic as possible. It’s even finished in Silver Birch, just like the original car’s colour.

The Aston Martin follows on from the Lego Bugatti Chiron – a plastic brick version of one of the fastest production cars in the world. That model was made up of a staggering 3,599 individual pieces, and featured touches such as an active rear wing, movable paddle gearshift and a W16 engine with moving pistons.

The Lego Aston Martin DB5 is available to buy from today and costs £129.99.
