Kia has revealed full pricing and specifications for its all-new Ceed and Ceed Sportswagon models.

The popular hatchback, which is now in its third generation, gains a multitude of new features along with a generous amount of standard equipment.

It’s also available with a series of new, efficient powertrains. A 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit kicks off the range, delivering low emissions of 125g/km CO2.

It is followed by a new 1.4-litre unit, also petrol-powered, which replaces the previous 1.6-litre engine. Now able to produce more power, it also features a wider torque band, making it more flexible for use in all driving situations.

Both engines come fitted with petrol particulate filters to help reduce emissions.

An ultra-efficient 1.6-litre diesel unit is also available on the Ceed, and it emits less CO2 than any other engine in the range at just 101g/km. All engines are driven through six-speed manual gearboxes, though a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic is available with the 1.4-litre petrol and 1.6-litre diesel options.

Kia is also planning to introduce a mild hybrid version of the Ceed next year.

Inside, the Ceed benefits from a seven-inch colour touchscreen system, which houses such functions as satellite navigation and media controls, as well as smartphone integration technology such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

A variety of new safety systems have also been introduced with the new Ceed. Standard features include high beam assist, driver attention warning, lane keeping assist and forward collision-avoidance assist.

Prices for the all-new car start will start at £18,295 when it goes on sale from August 1, with all vehicles accompanied by Kia’s seven-year, 100,000 mile warranty.
