Every now and then, Ferrari will make a bespoke, one-off car for some of its most dedicated customers and this is its latest — the SP38.

Based on the 488 GTB currently in production, this one-of-a-kind special brings a design inspired by some of the Italian manufacturer’s most iconic creations.

The side of the car features simpler styling than the 488 GTB on which it is based — save for a small air vent to keep the twin-turbocharged V8 engine cool.

That sleek theme is continued to the rear of the car, with the glass cover replaced with a one-piece carbon fibre panel that incorporates a raised spoiler — inspired by the legendary Ferrari F40. Minimalist air vents also feature, as well as four circular taillights with two exhaust pipes sat just underneath to complete the look.

Ferrari hasn’t given performance figures for the SP38, but the 488 GTB it’s based on boasts 661bhp and 760Nm of torque from its 3.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine. That means it’s capable of 0-60mph in 2.8 seconds before going on to a 205mph top speed.
