Porsche reveals new 718 Cayman and Boxster GTS models

Package increases horsepower and adds visual enhancements

Porsche has unveiled its latest GTS versions of the 718 Boxster and Cayman, featuring more power and visual enhancements.

Power has been increased over the regular 718 Boxster S and Cayman S thanks to a newly developed intact duct and an optimised turbocharger, pushing the GTS’ output to 361bhp – 15bhp more than the regular car.

It means that the new 718 Boxster GTS and 718 Cayman GTS have 35bhp and 25bhp more power respectively than the previous-generation GTS models from 2014.

The GTS is available as standard with a six-speed manual gearbox, it can also be specified with Porsche’s dual-clutch PDK ‘box. It’s with this latter drivetrain that the car’s best acceleration figures can be achieved, with both Cayman and Boxster versions hitting 60mph in under four seconds. Each vehicle is capable of a top speed of 180mph.

However, thanks to the use of a turbocharger, neither vehicles suffers any efficiency penalty – returning 34.4mpg on a combined cycle and emitting 186g/km CO2.

A range of visual enhancements have been added to the GTS models to help distinguish them against the regular 718. These include a redesigned front bumper, black tinted headlights and taillights, as well as centrally mounted black tailpipes. The GTS is now 10mm lower and as standard it’s given 20-inch black alloy wheels.

Inside, the GTS gets a variety of Alcantara accents for the seats, steering wheel and centre console.

Order books are now open for the 718 GTS, with prices starting at £59,866 for the 718 Cayman GTS and £61,727 for the Boxster GTS. First deliveries are expected in mid-December.
