Peugeot has added a new high-specification trim level to its popular 208 supermini range.

The Allure Premium Special Edition trim offers buyers a greater level of standard equipment than the regular Allure specification, adding 16-inch matt black alloys, electric and heated folding door mirrors, dark tinted rear windows and a new Orange Power exterior colour.

The cabin has also received a number of updates, with a panoramic glass roof, ambient lighting, electric rear windows and a colour reversing camera all included as standard. A colour touchscreen infotainment system is also included, offering smartphone connectivity thanks to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Customers can also specify satellite navigation as an optional extra.

Powering the new model is a 1.2-litre, 81bhp PureTech petrol engine. Peugeot claims this power plant can manage a combined fuel economy figure of 62.8mpg, while CO2 emissions stand at 104g/km. Performance-wise, this engine enables the 208 to complete the 0-60mph dash in 12 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 109mph.

The 208 Allure Premium Special Edition is on sale now, with prices starting at £16,565. However, Peugeot will offer the new 208 with a £2,000 finance deposit contribution.
