The DS 3 Connected Chic also benefits from a number of aesthetic tweaks, including 17-inch black diamond-cut ‘Aphrodite’ alloys, a contrasting black roof and door mirrors, tinted rear windows, and Basalt Black ‘Rayados’ cloth trim.

Customers have a choice of one petrol engine, in various states of tune, and one diesel unit. The petrol line-up consists of a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder PureTech unit that develops either 81bhp or 109bhp. Both variants are available with a five-speed manual, while the more powerful 1.2-litre can also be fitted with a six-speed automatic. The diesel offering comes in the form of a 1.6-litre, four-cylinder BlueHDi engine that develops 99bhp.

As far as economy is concerned, the entry-level petrol unit boasts a claimed fuel consumption figure of 61.4mpg on the combined cycle and CO2 emissions of 107g/km. With the manual transmission, the more powerful petrol manages 65.7mpg on the combined cycle and CO2 emissions of 100g/km. The BlueHDi diesel claims 83.1mpg, and emissions of 87g/km.
