Edd China will be driving his fully motorised bathroom suite at the opening of an upcoming event.

The TV presenter and inventor will get behind the wheel of ‘Bog Standard’ – a complete bathroom suite that is taxed, insured and MOT’d for use on the road – to celebrate the opening of the Wacky Record Breakers exhibition at the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu, Hampshire.

He will also be piloting his famous road-legal sofa during two sessions on Sunday, July 23. Named ‘Fast Asleep’, the double bed is capable of reaching 69mph while its occupants lie in comfort. It joins a motorised garden shed called ‘Gone To Speed’ that can hit 58mph.

The world’s fastest dodgem, capable of speeds topping 100mph, will also be at the event. Created by inventor Colin Furze, the machine is fitted with a 600cc Honda motorcycle engine, making it far faster than its original 5mph top speed.

Furze is also bringing along a high-speed mobility scooter and the world’s fastest pram. The former, fitted with a 125cc motorcycle engine, can reach in excess of 80mph, while the latter has been built to hit speeds of more than 53mph thanks to a petrol engine fitted into its custom-made frame.

Tickets for the Wacky Record Breakers exhibition are available now and include entry to the rest of the National Motor Museum with its collection of more than 250 vehicles.
