Man rescued after fork lift truck flips onto van in Telford

Firefighters rescued a man from a forklift truck in Telford today after it flipped over onto a van in a crash.

The man, in his 50s, was rescued from the forklift after being given pain relief for rib pain. He was taken by ambulance to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital as a precaution.

The man had to be pulled from the cab by firefighters who had climbed up to him with a ladder.

Both the fire service and two ambulance crews were called at 12.22pm to Severn Drive, Wellington.

Two fire engines from Wellington station, including a rescue tender, attended the accident as well as two ambulances.

There were no other casualties reported at the scene and firefighters made sure all vehicles involved were safe.

They had left the area by about 12.55pm.
