Church Street in Wellington is accurately depicted

It's Wellington railway station, but only in a small way.

Because David Amias has been cajoled by Telford Railway Modellers Group to bring out his scale model of the station for a model exhibition in Wellington being held on September 30.

David, who has had a lifelong love and fascination of railways, said: "Once more I've been gently persuaded to exhibit my scratch-built model of Wellington railway station and shed yard in EM gauge.

"I had considered it long since retired, as am I also by a fair time, but they wished once more to show my layout to give a boost to their show. So, as they are good friends of mine, I agreed."

David was brought up in Dawley but lives now in Wolverhampton. His model depicts the station as it was in 1959.

The exhibition is at the Charlton School from 10am to 4pm and is expected to attracted modellers from far and wide.
