The team aimed to beat the previous world record set in America in 2015, standing at 69 hours six minutes.

The RAF Cosford team finished in 64 hours, 36 minutes and 22 seconds. Their record now needs to be verified by the Guinness Book of World Records

To break the record 100 Royal Air Force men and women from around the UK had to run 25 laps of the 400m track in an average of 41 minutes.

Their final average run time was 38 minutes 47 seconds.
