The event will take place at Harper Adams University on February 3, running from 10am until 3pm.

Organiser Gerrol Jalving said they were expecting to attract more visitors than ever.

"Last year we almost doubled the size of the event by adding lots of local craft and food stalls," he said.

"It meant that there was something for everyone and an enjoyable day out for the whole family, and an ideal opportunity to buy gifts for Valentines and Mothers Day.

"We are still by far the biggest seed potato day in Shropshire, and we attract visitors from a very large geographical area. This year we have over 120 varieties of seed potato, although that number is still increasing, including organic and totally blight resistant varieties. We also have over 20 varieties of beans and peas, onion and shallot sets, garlic, lily bulbs and vegetable seeds

"It is a great day out for gardeners, allotment growers and families. Forget the winter weather outside and come along to start the planning towards the warmer spring days and the summer harvests."

Gerrol said Harper Adams had been a great venue for the event over the last seven years.

He said: "At this time of year, being able to offer an indoor venue is crucial for our customer's comfort, and the venue has a large amount of free parking, and is directly connected to the major road network."
