Crash witnesses sought after pensioner sustains 'serious injuries'

Crash witnesses are being sought after an elderly man was left with serious injuries from a Telford collision.

Paramedics took the pensioner, in his 80s, to hospital after the two-vehicle smash in Coalport Road, Madeley last Tuesday, March 9.

The crash happened at around 11.30am between a red Citroen Xsara Picasso, driven by the elderly man, and a grey Nissan Juke. Police are appealing for information and dashcam footage.

A spokeswoman said: "Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision in Telford. A red Citroen Xsara Picasso and grey Nissan Juke collided at the point where the road narrows.

"The driver of the Citroen suffered serious injuries and was taken hospital.

"Anyone with information, including dashcam, footage is urged to contact 101 quoting reference 193i of March 9 or report online through the Tell Us About section of our website.

"Alternatively, if you have information but don’t feel comfortable speaking to police, you can speak to the independent charity Crimestoppers."
