Critical care paramedics landed on the field at John Randall Primary School in Madeley, after a call at around 10.22am yesterday.

On arrival, they found that the middle-aged patient had suffered serious injuries and needed a doctor. Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance sent a second crew.

The patient was airlifted to Royal Stoke Hospital's major trauma centre.

John Randall Primary School messaged parents to let them know that no children had been hurt and that it was an external issue.
