Man, 30, dies after being hit by car on A4169 near Ironbridge

A 30-year-old man was killed when he was hit by a car near Ironbridge.

West Mercia Police are appealing for witnesses after the incident near Farley, between Buildwas and Much Wenlock.

Heath Westerman, assistant coroner for Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, opened and adjourned an inquest on Andrew Davies from Much Wenlock yesterday.

Mr Davies died from fatal head injuries after being hit on the A4169 at 6.25pm on December 22.

The hearing was adjourned and a full inquest is due to take place on April 10.

Mr Davies is reported to have got out of a grey Peugeot estate, before being hit by a blue Ford C-Max estate.

He was confirmed dead at the scene.

West Mercia Police officers would like to speak with a woman driving a grey or silver Audi A3 or A5, who is believed to have stopped at the scene and spoken to other witnesses.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any further information, is asked to call officers on 101, quoting incident reference number 659S of December 22.
