Teenager stabbed in Telford street attack
A teenager suffered head injuries and was taken to hospital after a suspected stabbing in Telford.
The man was attacked near Dawley Social Club in King Street, Dawley, at about 8.15am today and emergency services arrived shortly after.
Police closed the road and it remains shut, after the teenager was taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening.
People in the area reported that at least six police vehicles had been called to the scene.
A statement by West Mercia Police said: "We are appealing for witnesses or information following an incident in Dawley this morning.
"The incident happened at around 8.15am on King Street close to the Dawley Social Club when an unknown number of offenders assaulted a man before fleeing the scene.
"The victim, a man in his late teens, suffered injuries to his head and a suspected stab wound to his arm, and has been taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.
"The suspects are described as white, male and wearing dark coloured clothing.
"A scene guard is currently in place on King Street while officers attend the scene."

Detective Sergeant Andrew Dawson said: "This was a nasty incident which we realise will prove particularly alarming to the local community.
"While no arrests have been made, investigations are ongoing and we have increased patrols in the area while officers conduct door-to-door enquiries and offer reassurance.
"I would urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident, saw anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident or has any dashcam footage of the incident or of the offenders fleeing the scene, to please get in touch as soon as possible."
The road was closed for most of the morning while police investigated the scene.
It was shut from Johnston Road through to Churchill Court, with extra police lines around the social club.
Drivers were being forced to take diversions to avoid the closed stretch of usually busy road.
Forensic officers were also in the area in the hours following the attack.
