Council and police take action after traveller camp sets up in Telford
Travellers were cleared from an illegal camp in Telford within hours
Council enforcement officers and police yesterday visited the camp near Telford Langley School and issued notice to quit the site by 3pm or to head to the council's transit site.
By 2.30pm, the camp on Duce Drive had been cleared.
Police spokeswoman Laura Maltby, said: “Officers attended the site to assist with serving the notice and ensure the safety and welfare of those involved.”
