Telford Magistrates Court is based at Telford Justice Centre and will be closed until next week

On Monday Telford Magistrates Court was temporarily closed for a 'deep clean', but reopened the same day.

However, the Ministry of Justice has now confirmed that the decision has today been taken to shut the court until Monday.

The courts service has confirmed the positive cases, but said the move was a precaution and that there was no evidence of workplace transmission.

While the court is closed, remand cases will be moved to Kidderminster, and officials will assess whether other cases will be moved to alternative courts.

A HM Courts and Tribunals spokesperson said: “The court will close until Monday as a precaution after a small number of positive Covid-19 cases.”
