Man arrested after shot fired at car on Telford housing estate

A man has been arrested after a gun was fired at a car on a Telford housing estate.

The 27-year-old was arrested for on suspicion of possessing a firearm or imitation firearm with intent to cause fear.

Armed police and a dog unit were called to Hurleybrook Way in Leegomery on Saturday night after a "targeted incident" which saw shots fired at a dark-coloured hatchback car.

Detective Inspector Lee Holehouse, who is leading the investigation, said: "We understand this may be a concerning incident for the community, and we will have extra officers carrying out additional patrols in the area while we investigate the incident.

"If anyone has any concerns, please speak with them."
