Lorry fire closes M54 slip road at Wellington
A lorry fire on the M54 blocked the slip road for Wellington eastbound this morning.
Police closed the slip road and traffic was building up while the fire service tackled the blaze, which was reported just before 8am.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service station manager Jim Barker said: "We are attending a lorry fire on the slip road of junction 7 off the M54 eastbound.
"There is slow moving traffic building up on M54 so please take care of driving past.
"The slip road likely to be closed for some time."
Three fire crews were sent to the scene from Shrewsbury and Wellington after the service received numerous calls reporting the fire.
The slip road was reopened this afternoon.
