Christian Chandler’s family said that it had been finished a few weeks early so that the money could go to the service.

Some of the £12,013 collected will also be shared by Midlands Air Ambulance.

More on this story:

Samuel Brooks, Christian’s uncle, said: “On behalf of all of Christian’s family, I would like to thank each and every single person that has donated to the page and left condolences and memories of Christian.

“We cannot even begin to find the words to show the gratitude we feel.

“Thanks to everyone’s generosity, Christian is going to have a beautiful funeral that will do him justice.

“This wouldn’t have been possible without your generosity, it has eased the worry and financial burden at what is the worst time of our lives as a family. "

Mr Brooks added: “Thank you from each and every one of us.”

He said that £1,000 would go to Midlands Air Ambulance and any money left would go to support the family and Christian’s siblings.
