Dalian Atkinson: Pre-inquest review into death of former Aston Villa footballer in Telford
A pre-inquest review was due to be held today into the death in Telford of former Aston Villa player Dalian Atkinson.
Mr Atkinson died after being shot with a police Taser outside his father’s house in Meadow Close, Trench, on August 15 last year.
A pre-inquest review was set to be held into the 48-year-old's death at Shirehall, Shrewsbury, this afternoon.
Pre-inquest reviews are held if there are particular issues of law or procedure that need to be determined by the coroner before the final inquest.
Mr Atkinson's death is currently the subject of an investigation by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
