Man bitten by dog in Telford sparks police appeal

A man was bitten by a dog while walking his two pets in Telford.

The incident happened on a playing field next to Aqueduct Lane, on the Silkin Way, on August 10 at about 6.10am.

The victim, a man in his 40s, was walking his two dogs when he was approached from the opposite side of the field by what is described as a grey, white and black Alaskan Malamute dog.

The man picked up his dogs and is reported to have been bitten in the leg by the Alaskan Malamute, causing puncture wounds that required hospital treatment in Accident and Emergency.

His Chinese Crested dog also received a minor injury during the incident.

The victim spoke to a woman believed to be in charge of the Alaskan Malamute at the time and police would like to identify and speak with her as part of on-going inquiries.

She is described as white, 60 to 70-years-old, 5ft 3in to 5ft 4in tall and of medium build with black, greying hair.

She was wearing a blue hooded anorak and Wellington boots

Anyone with information, or any witnesses to the incident, are asked to call West Mercia Police on 101 and quote incident number 223s of August 10.
