Delays on the A49 near Ludlow after crash

A man was taken to hospital following a crash involving one car on the A49 near Ludlow this morning.

Four fire engines were called to the A49 at Woofferton at about 7am.

A man in his 50s was taken to Hereford County Hospital with back and neck pain.

The road was blocked while the crash was cleared.

Claire Brown, press officer for West Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, said: "West Midlands Ambulance Service was called by the police shortly after 7am this morning to reports of a car which had come off the road and came to rest in a field off the A49 in Woofferton.

"One ambulance attended and treated a man in his 50s who had suffered back and neck pain.

"He was given pain relief before being taken to Hereford County Hospital for further assessment."
