Four fire appliances were called to the scene in Shrewsbury Road at about 7.10pm on Monday, from Church Stretton, Craven Arms and Wellington.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said a woman trapped in one of the vehicles was freed by firefighters who used cutting equipment.

Two people were taken to hospital, although the extent of their injuries is unknown.

Meanwhile, less than an hour earlier, a crew from Market Drayton were called to Dorrington Lane, Woore, where a car had collided with a telegraph pole.

Nobody was trapped and the crew made the vehicle safe.
