Driver and sheep saved in watery rescues by Shropshire firefighters

A driver had to be helped from his car when it got stuck in a ford near Bishop's Castle.

A fire crew from Clun when to Kempton Ford, Lydbury North, at 9.30am on Tuesday after a 999 call for help.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said that the man was helped from the vehicle by two fire service water first responders.

Specially trained water first responders were also busy when the fire service was called to reports of a sheep in a pond later in the day.

Fire crews were called out to Batchcott, Richards Castle, near Ludlow at 12.45pm and the sheep was rescued by 1.36pm.
