Police pounce in south Shropshire on 'untaxed, uninsured sports car with expired MOT'

Police in south Shropshire have swooped on an uninsured and untaxed car and taken it away on a truck.

Cops in the Cleobury and Highley area pounced on the garishly-coloured vehicle in the Highley area and tweeted about use of DVLA powers on Monday.

PC Karanjit Singh, of Cleobury and Highley Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "Cleobury and Highley's Safer Neighbourhood Team have been proactively looking out for uninsured, un-taxed and vehicles with expired MOT. With the assistance of local residents which have managed to seize a vehicle from the Highley area.

The SNT tweeted: "Parked and untaxed on the public highway?

"Not an issue as we are able to remove the vehicle using DVLA powers.

"This vehicle was untaxed, uninsured and has expired MOT".

Police want information about vehicles which are not complying with the correct regulations. They have asked people to let them know by using the online ‘Tell Us About’ form on the website
