Cat rescued after its head stuck in a cage

A cat has had to be freed by Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) after he got its head stuck in a cage.

SFRS said they received a call at around 11.30am on Friday after the kitten got stuck in Lower Wood near Church Stretton.

A fire engine was mobilised from Church Stretton and crews used bolt cutters and small gear to free the feline.

A spokesperson for SFRS said a vet was on hand when they freed the cat, which was unharmed by its experience.
