It is one month on from the crash on the B4385 near Lydbury North that left a teenage driver with spinal injuries and a 60-year-old driver with severe whiplash.

The crash, around Brunslow, left the younger driver trapped in his pick-up truck, which came to rest on its side, and saw fire crews from Bishops Castle, Craven Arms and Wellington called out to deal with the vehicles.

Now police have re-issued a plea to locate the driver of a Hyundai that was known to have been in the vicinity of the crash at the time, as officers believe he may have witnessed the events leading up to it.

Paul Roberts, speaking for West Mercia Police, said: "The force is appealing for witnesses as investigations into the collision that happened on July 11 continue.

"One month on, officers are keen to identify and speak with an elderly man seen driving a dark-coloured Hyundai in the area prior to the collision.

"A silver Mitsubishi L200 pick up travelling from the direction of Kempton ended up on its side, after being involved in a collision with a blue Volvo S40 travelling in the opposite direction towards Bridgnorth, just after 6.10pm.

"A 19-year-old man driving the Mitsubishi suffered a fractured sternum, crushed vertebrae and cuts and bruising, while the driver of the Volvo, a 60-year-old man, suffered severe whiplash injuries that required further treatment.

"Investigating officers would like to speak to anyone who may have been driving on the road at the time and remembers seeing any of the three vehicles mentioned above."

The B4385 is a winding country road that runs between Leintwardine and Bishop's Castle, and has been the site of numerous serious accidents in the past.

In 2016 a man was airlifted to hospital after his car crashed into a tree, in a collision so violent that the engine thrown from the vehicle.

In 2010 19-year-old Natasha Jones, from Ludlow died when the red Fiesta she was travelling in collided with a grey Ford Focus on the B4385 between Brockton and Lower Down, also near Lydbury North.

Anyone with any information about the most recent crash, or who may be able to help contact the Hyundai driver, is urged to call police on 101 and quote incident number 589s of July 11.
