Sheep freed from mud by fire crews

Fire crews have rescued a sheep stuck in mud at a farm in south Shropshire.

The fire service rushed to the scene at Stoney Field Farm in Neen Sollars, near Cleobury Mortimer, on Thursday morning at around 10.10am, to reports of an animal in trouble.

Two crews from Craven Arms and Wellington accompanied the animal rescue tender to the scene, where they found a ewe stuck in the mud.

The team assisted the animal, freeing her using shovels.

By 11am, the ewe was free from the mud. The welfare of the animal is not yet known.
