Long distance Lee needs Shropshire's help

The loneliness of a long distance runner could be eased with the help of people in Shropshire.

Lee Dodson and John Hewitson began a Lands End to John O'Groats run on May 14, planning to run back-to-back marathons each day to complete their challenge in 16 days and raise money for Alice House Hospice in Hartlepool.

But on day three John was injured and Lee is now having to complete the rest of the challenge alone.

Supporters are calling on runners to join Lee for some or all of his runs to ease the mental pressure on him.

Lee was due to leave Ludlow on Friday morning and travel along the A49 via Shrewsbury and up to Whitchurch for the evening.

On Saturday he is hoping to leave Whitchurch heading for Chester on northwards to Preston.

Anyone who could help can find out where he is by contacting Greg Hildreth at the hospice on 01429 855529 or find out more on https://www.facebook.com/alicehousehospice or https://lejogah.everydayhero.com/uk/lejog17 where they can also pledge donations.
