
The fire ripped through the property in Oakfield Close, Brockton, near Worthen.
No-one was hurt in the fire.
The alarm was raised at 4.20am and was still not under control four hours later. The area was cordoned off and smoke could be seen coming from the roof.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said firefighters still at the at the scene this morning were attempting to extinguish the remains of the fire within the roof cavity of the house.
Eight fire crews from Shropshire and across the Welsh border fought the blaze, with firefighters using breathing apparatus to close close to the fire, aided by other officers with a covering jet.
Thermal imaging cameras were used to find hot spots within the house.
Earlier a fire crew from Much Wenlock was called out to a house fire on the Hodgecroft Estate.
Firefighters were called out just after midnight to the fire in the kitchen of the house and had it under control within 10 minutes.
