Parent attacks school dinners after child buys 'five wedges for £1.60'
A school has blamed “teething issues” with a new catering provider after a parent of one pupil complained that his child was not getting enough to eat at lunchtimes.
The parent, who did not want to be named, shared a picture of the “five wedges for £1.60” his child bought at lunch time this week at Meole Brace School in Shrewsbury.
The parent said the Year 11 child has returned home hungry each day since starting back on Wednesday, September 6, due to the paltry portion sizes being served up at the school canteen.
They said: “She started back Wednesday and on each day since, the catering department has not had enough food for all the pupils. For four days days, years 11 and 9 have not been fed properly and some have gone without any food completely ,” the parent claimed.
