New website celebrates Shropshire's green businesses
A new website is championing Shropshire's environmentally friendly businesses by becoming a one-stop shop for green products.
Mossy Life was created by Caroline Talbot, with the aim of making it easier for Salopians to make eco-friendly lifestyle choices.
It includes a comprehensive green directory and what’s on guide, showcasing hundreds of small Shropshire businesses who provide environmentally friendly products, services and events. For individuals looking to live a greener lifestyle, there are hints and tips to help them make easy swaps in their every day lives, as well as recommended places to eat, reusable product suppliers, local producers and zero waste events.
Caroline initially started it as a small list of Shropshire zero waste refill shops. Initially created to help family and friends reduce plastic waste associated with food packaging, the directory has grown to include around 300 local businesses and groups, and over 150 events
Caroline has always been passionate about protecting the natural environment. With over a decade’s worth of experience in environmental education she has also worked with a number of national animal charities, ran local voluntary groups, managed a range of visitor attractions and in her spare time runs her own eco-friendly party kit business.
“There are an amazing number of eco-friendly businesses and voluntary groups throughout Shropshire, but with small budgets or relying on charitable donations to run, many go under the radar and are missed by the very customers or volunteers they are trying to reach," she said.
"Even those with stand-out marketing, social pages or business connections, can get lost in the mass of information that is now available online.
"As a mum trying to live a green lifestyle, and as a small business owner who understands the importance of community support, I wanted to be able to help other local individuals and businesses who want to live a lifestyle that doesn’t cost the earth.
"Mossy Life already has hundreds of businesses and events listed, and we are adding more every week. My favourite part is finding out about new companies, individuals or groups and connecting them with new customers. Although I have lived here most of my life, this beautiful county and its people still amaze me every day.”
