Man rescued from River Severn in Shrewsbury

Firefighters rescued a man from the River Severn in Shrewsbury.

Three crews, including the incident command unit and water rescue unit, were called to Kingsland Bridge at 9.45pm yesterday.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said there had been a report of people and a raft in the water.

Fire crews launched the rescue boat and assisted one person to dry land.
