People have been knitting, crocheting pompom making and using other crafts over several weeks.

And the fruits of their labours went up this weekend in a yarn bombing of the Castle Walk bridge and nearby street furniture and trees.

The yarn bombing coincided with a nature trail and family fun activities in the area.

While some people created their works of art at home others joined in workshops at the Castlefields Craft Club in the Dog and Pheasant pub.

More than a dozen large panels were tied on the Castle Walk bridge while smaller pieces were wrapped around trees trunks, hung from branches and used to mark out the Easter nature trail in Castlefields.

Local councillor, Alan Moseley, said: "It has been a wonderful community initiative and the results are being enjoyed by everyone in the area.

"It is really worth popping down to see the result of all the hard work."
