Ex-Shrewsbury clinician gets 11 years in jail for child sex offences
A paedophile has been jailed for 11 years for sexual offences described by a judge as “profoundly damaging”.
Shrewsbury Crown Court heard how one of Dean Jagger’s victims now hates it when men look at her and was too scared to sleep alone for a year.
Jagger, 44, who used to live in Shrewsbury and committed all of his offences while living in Shropshire, showed no emotion as he was sentenced on Wednesday. During the trial in June Jagger, of Ivydean Road, Ivybridge, Devon, was found guilty of two counts of sexual assault of a child under 13, and three other offences.
Prosecutor Steven Bailey told the court that one of Jagger’s victims “had not been able to build close relationships and had missed time at school”.
Mr Peter Cooper, defending, said: “Of course Mr Jagger is going to receive a long sentence and he knows that.
“He was under considerable stress from working long hours to keep his business going.”
Judge Peter Barrie also made Jagger – who ran a skin clinic in Shrewsbury before moving away – the subject of a sexual harm prevention order.
