Katie Anson's son Kye died four days after he was born at the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford on August 19 2015.

Kerry Davies, Laura Jones, and Hayley Lacey are facing claims that they did not properly monitor Kye's birth and Kerry Davies alone is accused of limiting his chance of survival.

Laura Jones and Hayley Lacey are charged with failing to record the foetal heart rate of Kye at 6.05pm and 6.20pm.

A Nursing and Midwifery Council panel headed by Philip Sayce is due to make a decision on a series of charges faces by 3pm.

If the panel find any charges proved they will then adjourn for a sanction hearing in April.

The Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust was investigated under the orders of former Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt following baby deaths on its maternity wards.

Senior midwife Donna Ockenden led an enquiry to examine 23 cases of mother and baby deaths and injuries at hospitals in Shropshire between 2000 and 2017.

Kye Anson's paternal grandmother Mandy Walker has told the hearing she was so troubled about the standard of care her daughter received that she made notes on her computer.

Ms Walker, a trained nurse, later compared them to those made by the midwives and alleges there were a number of entries of care which did not take place.

Both Laura Jones and Kerry Davies admit failing to call a porter to assist in the transfer of Ms Anson to the Consultant Led Unit.

Kerry Davies admits not recording the foetal heart rate at 20:05, the last opportunity before Kye was transferred to the Consultant Led Unit, but denies that this led to the loss of chance of survival of the baby.

She is the only midwife charged with causing the loss of chance of survival.

Hayley Lacey and Laura Jones each deny being responsible for the care of the mother at 6.05pm and 6.20pm.
