Bosses at Jump In Shrewsbury chose The Harry Johnson Trust as their charity of the year and have been hosting various events to support their work.

The charity was set up in 2014 after seven-year-old Harry lost his battle with double hit non Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

During his time at Princess Royal Hospital in Telford, his parents vowed to help others in the same position and just months after he passed away, they launched the charity, which has since helped families across Shropshire and beyond.

Proud

Harry’s mother Sally Johnson, from Vennington near Shrewsbury, said: “We are very proud to have helped so many families and provided toys, games and equipment for the oncology ward over the last four years.

“Nothing can dull the pain of losing a child but knowing we are continuing Harry’s legacy and so many families have benefitted from the charity inspired by him is a comfort to us all.

“We are hugely thankful to our supporters, who have jumped out of planes, climbed mountains and completed all sorts of challenges to raise money in Harry’s memory, and our work simply wouldn’t be possible without them."

The charity assists families in many ways, from paying for them to go on holidays to putting together hampers of useful things for hospital stays to arranging and funding quilts or memory bears made from clothes of children who pass away from cancer.

She added: “I want to thank Jump In for coming up with the idea of hosting an anniversary party. The bouncing theme seems especially fitting as our logo is a frog Harry drew not long before he passed away.”

As well as the chance to have a go on the trampolines, the party will include a raffle, auction and bar and Christmas cards in aid of the charity will be on sale.

The free event in aid of The Harry Johnson Trust will be held from 6.30pm to 9pm on November 6.

Anyone who can offer an auction or raffle prize should contact Jump In’s general manager Duncan Kemp on 01926 356290.
