Firefighters free horse from brook

Fire crews were called to free a horse that was trapped in a brook.

Three Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Shrewsbury and Wellington were called to Grove Lane in Roddington at about 6pm on Friday.

Crews used lifting and animal harnesses and straps to pull the animal to safety.

The operation took around 90 minutes to complete, with crews leaving the scene at about 9.25pm.
